(FYP 1) Week 7: Workshop 3 (Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and Abstract) and Chapter 1 (Introduction) Progress

This week I attended workshop 3 sessions on Wednesday, 16 November 2022, from 2.30 to 4.30 pm, conducted online on the Microsoft Teams platform by Mr. Azmi Bin Hashim. It was attended by all FYP 1, FYP 2, and Diploma students. This workshop session explains chapter 4 on results and discussion and chapter 5 on conclusion and recommendation, although it is more directed to FYP 2 students only. Furthermore, the session also explains abstract in thesis writing or summary in report proposal. 

This week I also continued to complete chapter 1, where half of the subtopic was done last week. This week's excess subtopics are the project's significance, scopes and limitations, and chapter summary. Finally, the writing of chapter 1 has been completed this week.

(FYP 1) Week 6: Started Doing the Proposal/FYP 1 Report Writing

This week, I started writing the proposal report/FYP 1 after listening to the briefing and explanation about writing the proposal report attended by all FYP 1 students conducted by Mr Shah Rizailli Mukhtar. The proposal report consists of an Abstract, Chapter 1 (Introduction), Chapter 2 (Literature Review), Chapter 3 (Methodology), and References. To begin with, I only focus on Chapter 1 which is the Introduction that covers

1.1 Project Background

1.2 Problem Statement

1.3 Objective 

1.4 Significant of Project

1.5 Scope and Limitation 

1.6 Chapter Summary

In summary, for this chapter, I highlight an overview of the project that explains to the reader why the project title is relevant and worth studying. To continue the project title, I also describe the problem statement identified to achieve the goals and direction of the project. Knowing the goal, I list the project objectives as a guide in producing steps for the methodological process. Also, I explained the introduction in relation to showing the project's significance, scope and limitations. Unfortunately, only half of the subtopics were completed this week. Among the subtopics completed project background, problem statement, and project objectives. The rest of the subtopic will be continued next week.

(FYP 1) Week 5: Workshop 2 (Thesis and Proposal Writing Briefing)

This week I attended the second workshop session for the FYP subject which explained the thesis and proposal writing briefing of the FYP for this semester. The briefing was conducted online on the Microsoft Teams platform by Sir Shah Rizailli Mukhtar the presenter for the workshop 2 sessions. This briefing was attended by all students from FYP 1, FYP 2 and FYP Diploma and the attendance of all the students taking the FYP was compulsory. 

In the briefing, the presenter briefed us about the following:

• Thesis and proposal format.
• Thesis and proposal writing for chapters 1 to 3.
• Description of chapter 1 (Introduction)
• Description of chapter 2 (Literature Review)
• Description of chapter 3 (Methodology)

At the end of this workshop, students will be able to:

• Understand the significance of writing a good technical proposal for FYP 1.
• Understand the correct ways of writing a solid methodology for a technical proposal.
• Write these chapters with good writing skills.
• Submit the draft of these chapters early to supervisors for their review.
